Sometimes you get sick and you may not know what to do. If you do not have health insurance, you can contact one of the following offices. Their services are free of charge for people without health insurance. However, in Germany it is important and mandatory to have a health insurance. You will get better medical care and can go to any licensed doctor. If you need counseling about health insurance, you can turn to a counseling center.

The student polyclinic (StuPoli) offers weekly free consultations. StuPoli is led by experienced medical students of the Goethe University in Frankfurt and a MD lecturer from the Public Health Department in Frankfurt am Main.

At StuPoli, patients without health insurance benefit of free anonymous medical treatment and social counseling. The treatment includes general medical problems, as well as organization of paid ambulatory childbirth for pregnant patients. Furthermore, StuPoli has a network of medical specialists, who can also treat patients without health insurance.

Medinetz is a contact point that offers phone consultations for illegal immigrants and people with no or insufficient access to medical care.

Medinetz itself does not offer medical services. Depending on the medical problems, we can refer patients to specialists, who work anonymously and, when possible, free of charge. Further expenses, such as medicine, might be reimbursed in individual cases.

The association “Fahrende Ärzte e.V.” offers humanitarian consultations in Kassel.

The humanitarian consultations:

Medinetz is a contact point that offers phone consultations for illegal immigrants and people with no or insufficient access to medical care.
Medinetz itself does not offer medical help, but can refer you to doctors, midwifes, psychologists etc., who can treat you anonymously and free of charge, if possible.

Medinetz makes appointments and accompanies patients to their doctor’s appointments. If you have difficulties with the language, we will arrange for an interpreter.

Medical expenses for lab tests or medicines are covered by the association.

In case of a serious or chronic illness that requires hospitalization, we work together with the treating physician to find a solution.
